CDM Scope of Service

Discharge duties to provide CDM Coordinator services (to a Client)

Provide suitable and sufficient advice and assistance on all his duties including time and other resources.

Provide suitable and sufficient advice and assistance on the arrangements for managing projects and the review and maintenance of the arrangements. As required under regulation 9, 13 and 20, CDM 2007.

Advise and assist Clients on competence and resources, as required by regulation 4 of CDM 2007.

Advise and assist Clients on the arrangements and provision of construction phase welfare.

Advise and assist Clients on workplace health and safety and "in use" issues arising from the design and construction, as required by the Workplace Regs 1992.

Work with designers and co-ordinate amongst them so that designs pay adequate regard to health and safety in construction, cleaning, use and deconstruction and the affects on third parties as required by regulations 5 and 6 of CDM 2007 throughout the duration of the project .

Facilitate the application of the principles of prevention as per regulation 7 of CDM 2007 and MH + SW Regs 1999.

Advise and agree with the Client the arrangements for preparing a suitable Health and Safety File, subject to regulations 17 and 20 of CDM 2007.

Make notifications to the HSE as soon as possible after appointment as per regulation 2 and 21 of CDM 2007.

Ensure the prompt flow of relevant H&S information among the design team and to the PC to enable the PC to develop and prepare the Construction Phase Developed Health & Safety Plan as per regulations 10, 15 , to ensure effective compilation of risk information prior to construction and to produce a CDM Coordinator - Health and Safety Risk Summary Plan as the primary focus for this information .

To periodically update the team and advise on relevant risk or safety matters as they become evident during the course of the project and to be in attendance to the majority of project team meeting to facilitate this process .

Advise Clients on the suitability of the Construction Phase Plan as per regulation 16 of CDM Regs 2007.

The information the Principal Contractor needs to prepare for the construction phase plan

Design changes which may affect planning management. 

Create a new suitable Health and Safety File, or review, amend or make additions to an existing Health and Safety File, as per regulation 17 , subject to the legal requirement for the Principal Contractor to provide all the information necessary promptly for effective compilation to occur. As per regulation 17 and 20 of CDM 2007.
