CDM Coordinator Service
The Construction (Design & Management) Regulations were introduced as a means of managing all construction and building projects, from inception (design phase) through to project completion and beyond.

Through the definition of specific roles and responsibilities, the regulations aim to define minimum health & safety requirements for all construction projects.

In April 2007 following a review by the Health & Safety Commission the CDM regulations 2007 came into force. The most significant aspect details that responsibility is directly attributed to the Client Company and Designers to ensure that a coordinated approach to projects is undertaken.

As such any Company which undertakes a notifiable project (defined as a project with over 30 days construction or greater than 500 person days) will be required by law, to appoint a CDM Coordinator to act as a key advisor to that client with respect to Health & Safety issues.

By assigning a CDM coordinator at the design phase of the project, all necessary actions can be taken at the earliest stages and throughout the project life-cycle. That way ensuring that compliance with the regulations is a considered aspect of the project and the coordinator an essential part of the project team.

The following guide provides a useful source of reference for CDM 2007 and can be viewed here.
